Etymology
Întotdeauna is a Romanian compound, not a word inherited whole from Latin. It joins în (in), tot (all, every), and deauna, an old contracted form of de-a una, literally of one, built on Latin unus. The pieces together gave the sense of at all times, as one unbroken stretch, and over centuries the phrase fused into a single written word.
