Etymology

Raporta is a verb built from the noun raport, "report," which Romanian borrowed from French rapport. French rapport comes from the verb rapporter, a combination of re- and apporter, ultimately from Latin ad- and portare, "to carry." Romanian added its own infinitive ending -a to fit the borrowing into native verb conjugation.
