Ifsād is the verbal noun of the Form IV verb afsada, built on the root f-s-d, which carries the sense of being rotten, spoiled, or corrupt. Form IV adds a causative meaning, so ifsād denotes the act of making something corrupt or spoiled rather than the state itself. The same root gives Arabic fasād, corruption as a condition. Arabic is a Semitic language, not Indo-European, so no PIE root applies.
