Etymology
Arabic borrowed طاقِم from Ottoman Turkish takım, meaning a set, group, or team. The word entered Arabic during Ottoman rule and spread across the region. Speakers later reanalyzed it under the consonants ط ق م and built native-looking plurals from it.
