Etymology
لكم is not a single root word but a fused unit: the preposition لِ ("to, for") attached to the second-person masculine plural pronoun كُم ("you all"). This kind of prefix-plus-pronoun fusion is standard across Semitic languages, so the same combination appears with a near-identical shape and meaning outside Arabic. Arabic is a Semitic language, unrelated to the Indo-European family, so no PIE root applies here.
