Etymology
نَحْنُ is the inherited Semitic first-person plural independent pronoun, going back to Proto-Semitic *naḥnu/*niḥnu 'we'. It is built on a 1st-plural element n- that also surfaces in the verbal prefix na- and the suffix -nā 'us/our'. The pronoun is unanalyzable synchronically and has no Indo-European connection.
