Etymology
Απαράδεκτος adds the negative prefix α- to παράδεκτος, an older adjective meaning acceptable. Παράδεκτος comes from the verb παραδέχομαι, to accept or admit, which itself joins παρά- to δέχομαι, to receive. Δέχομαι traces back to the same Ancient Greek root that produced words for taking and perceiving, so the whole word literally means not fit to be received.
