Etymology
Αποκλειστικός comes from the verb αποκλείω, "to shut out, exclude," built from από- ("away, off") and κλείω ("to close, shut"). The adjective suffix -στικός, a variant of -τικός, marks a quality or capacity, so the word means roughly "tending to shut out." Modern Greek uses it for anything reserved for one person or group, from a business right to a news interview.
