Etymology
πιώ is the perfective (aorist) first-person form belonging to the verb πίνω 'to drink', used after θα and να. Its stem πι- continues the Ancient Greek aorist ἔπιον and goes back to the Proto-Indo-European root for drinking. The reduplicated and o-grade variants of this root are visible across the daughter languages.
