Etymology

Συρροή is a deverbal noun from συρρέω, itself συν- ("together") plus ρέω ("to flow"). Before ρ, the ν of συν- assimilates and doubles the following consonant, so συν+ρέω becomes συρρέω. The noun keeps the same doubled ρ and adds the abstract-noun suffix -ή, the same suffix seen in ροή ("flow").
