Etymology
σχετίζω is a denominal verb built on σχέση 'relation, relationship', which descends from Ancient Greek σχέσις 'state, condition, a holding', a noun derived from σχεῖν, the aorist of ἔχω 'to have, hold'. The ending -ίζω is a highly productive suffix that turns nouns and adjectives into verbs. So σχετίζω is, in effect, 'to put things into relation'.
