مُحِبّ is the active participle of the Form IV verb أَحَبَّ (to love), built on the Semitic root ح ب ب (ḥ-b-b), which carries the core sense of love and affection across Arabic. It is not an Indo-European borrowing, so it has no PIE ancestor. The same root gives Arabic حُبّ (love) and حَبِيب (beloved).
