Etymology
نُمُوّ comes from the Arabic triliteral root ن-م-و (n-m-w), which carries the sense of increasing or growing. It is the masdar, or verbal noun, of the verb نَمَا (namā, "to grow"), built on the فُعُول pattern used for abstract nouns of process. The root is native Semitic, not traceable to an Indo-European source.
