ΚαλυψώCalypso, the nymph who hid Odysseus
Etymology
καλύπτω comes from Ancient Greek κᾰλύπτω, with the same meaning of covering or concealing. Linguists trace it to the PIE root *kel-, meaning to cover or hide. The nymph Καλυψώ (Calypso), who kept Odysseus hidden on her island, carries the same root: her name means roughly "the concealer."
