Etymology
Μωράκι is the diminutive of μωρό, the Modern Greek word for baby. Μωρό itself descends from ancient Greek μωρός, which meant foolish or dull. Over centuries the sense narrowed to describe an infant, presumably because a baby has not yet learned to reason. Adding the diminutive suffix -άκι gives an affectionate, smaller-scale form, much like turning dog into doggy.
