Etymology
Adoră is the third-person present form of a adora, borrowed from Latin adorare. Adorare itself combines the prefix ad- (toward) with orare (to speak, to pray), so the original sense was to address someone with reverence or prayer. Romance languages kept this verb largely intact, and Romanian inherited it either directly from Latin or reinforced it through later French influence.
