Etymology
Comoară entered Romanian from Old Slavic komora, which meant a storage room or chamber where valuables were kept. Over time the word shifted from naming the room to naming what was stored inside it: riches or treasure. The Slavic word itself likely goes back to Greek kamara, a vaulted chamber, passed on through Latin camera.
