Etymology
Dansat is the past participle of a dansa, to dance. Romanian borrowed the verb from French danser in the modern era, as part of the wave of French vocabulary that reshaped Romanian in the 18th and 19th centuries. It replaced or sat alongside older, Slavic-influenced words for the same idea. Because it is a relatively recent loan, it does not trace back to a native Latin or PIE root within Romanian.
