Etymology

Factură entered Romanian from French facture, which meant both an invoice and the manner in which something is made. French facture goes back to Latin factura, "a making" or "a manufacture," built on facere, "to do" or "to make." The older sense of manner or style of making survives in Romanian art criticism, alongside the everyday commercial meaning of a bill.
