Etymology
أَوْج entered Arabic as a loanword from Persian اوج (owj), meaning height or summit. Medieval Arab astronomers adopted it as a technical term for the apogee, the point in a planet's orbit farthest from earth. Over time its use widened beyond astronomy into a general metaphor for the peak of power, fame, or intensity.
